RaySearch releases RayStation v2026

RaySearch Laboratories AB (publ) today announces the release of RayStation®* v2026, the latest version of its treatment planning system. The new release introduces enhanced support for reirradiation, integrated patient-specific quality assurance, expanded automation, and further improvements in particle therapy.

As cancer treatments improve and the population ages, a larger portion of patients may receive radiotherapy more than once during their lifetime. When radiotherapy is delivered after a previous course of radiotherapy, this is known as reirradiation. RayStation’s reirradiation support helps users account for previously delivered dose, anatomical changes, and radiobiological effects when combining treatments separated in time.

The new release also introduces a new module for more streamlined patient-specific quality assurance for treatment machines using on-board imaging devices. This provides means to avoid time-consuming manual setups of measurement devices. Automation remains a key focus area, and RayStation v2026 introduces expanded capabilities for automated and advanced treatment planning. Examples include enhanced automation of proton planning workflows through the introduction of plan generation protocols, further improvements in automated planning, updates to Plan Explorer, and more than 30 new deep learning segmentation models, including models for pediatric cases. The deep learning planning functionality for v2026 includes new and updated models for breast locoregional treatments, lung proton cases, and prostate with seminal vesicles and lymph nodes.

On the particle therapy side, new features further strengthen RayStation’s particle therapy capabilities: support for proton static arc planning for patients treated in upright positions, enhanced support for Hitachi proton and carbon ion systems, and proton optimization using the GPU, enabling substantially shorter optimization times, especially for the most complex patient cases.

“RayStation v2026 is an important step in the continued development of our treatment planning platform,” says Johan Löf, founder and CEO of RaySearch Laboratories. ”With new support for reirradiation, stronger particle therapy capabilities and further expansion of deep learning segmentation and planning, we are helping clinics manage increasingly advanced treatments with greater efficiency and confidence.”
