Two new RayStation orders in North America

RaySearch Laboratories AB has received two new orders for its RayStation® treatment planning system from The Carol and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center in Storrs, Connecticut and from Christiana Care Health System’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center in Newark, Delaware.

The Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is part of the University of Connecticut Health Center, offers a complete range of world-class services, from innovative cancer prevention programs to today’s most sophisticated treatments. The center will use RayStation® for advanced contouring and deformable registration. The system will improve the patient workflow by allowing the physicians to perform and analyze the segmentation. As the department has several advanced treatment technologies, they will also use RayStation® to combine doses from several modalities, and use the system’s extensive toolbox for treatment evaluation to assess the different techniques.

The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is a part of Christiana Care which is a major teaching hospital with two campuses and more than 240 Medical-Dental residents and fellows. Christiana Care is recognized as a regional center for excellence in cardiology, cancer and women's health services. The center will use RayStation® for advanced deformable registration, dose accumulation and adaptive radiotherapy. RayStation® will fit in with their current treatment planning system by taking current plans and allowing the center to use advanced techniques to assess the need for re-planning. If re-planning is needed, RayStation® will allow the clinicians re-optimize the plan based on dose that has already been delivered, using special adaptive techniques to adjust for anatomical changes occurring during the course of treatment.

“I am glad that customers are implementing our advanced technologies to meet their needs. RayStation® is of course a complete treatment planning system, but it is also a great solution for customers considering third party products to enhance their current treatment planning technology suite as it has many configurable modules that make it highly adaptable to both the needs and to the budget of radiation therapy centers”, says Marc Mlyn, President of RaySearch Americas.

Johan Löf, CEO of RaySearch Laboratories adds: “We are delighted to welcome both Christiana Care and University of Connecticut as customers. We see a lot of interest and have a large number of business discussions ongoing so I am confident that the US customer base will keep expanding during the second half of this year. ”
