Plan explorer enhancements

The Plan explorer module has been redesigned to work seamlessly with automatic planning methods, such as the ECHO algorithm and deep learning planning, as well as with plans made with other techniques. In the Plan explorer module a large number of treatment plans can be assessed with respect to different trade-offs and combinations of treatment techniques and machines.

Automatic planning with the ECHO algorithm

RayStation v2025 comes with the automatic planning algorithm ECHO. ECHO is configured per medical indication and runs multiple optimizations in two phases. In the first phase, machine parameters are optimized to obtain a uniform target dose while considering dose constraints on risk organs. In the second phase, the dose to the risk organs is minimized while keeping the uniformity of the target dose obtained in the first phase.

Machine learning updates

RayStation v2025 adds several new deep learning segmentation models. Examples are models for delineation of the pelvic nodes, vertebrae and chest wall, as well as male pelvic models for segmentation on MRI. The new release also includes three new models for deep learning planning, one for brain tumor patients receiving proton radiotherapy, and two for photon radiotherapy: a locoregional breast model, and an oropharynx model for head and neck patients.

Support for upright treatments

The new version of RayStation adds support for upright treatment planning using the Leo Cancer Care upright patient positioning system with chair angle rotation and variable backrest tilt angle.

Other RayStation v2025 highlights
