Mathias Nielsen, Application Specialist with radiographer background

To use your clinical knowledge in a new environment

After 6 years as a radiotherapist at a cancer clinic in Denmark, Mathias was ready for a new challenge. At an oncology and radiation fair, he saw a demo of our product RayStation and was impressed with how new technology as Machine Learning can be used to improve cancer treatment. Today as an Application Specialist at RaySearch, he has great use of his clinical experience when he trains and supports clinical staff in how to use our products. He appreciates working at the same office as the R&D department, the dedicated and competent colleagues and the stimulating work environment. He feels that there is a good balance between travelling and visiting cancer clinics, working from the office and time for recovery.

About the role

As an Application Specialist you will, as well as Mathias, join a diverse and dedicated specialist group with clinical experience from different countries, located at our head office in central Stockholm. At the office the colleagues in your group have clinical experience from Sweden and several Nordic and European countries. The group is part of the global service organization with Application-, Physics- and IT Specialists in the US, Europe and Asia responsible for installation, support and education of our customers.

The emphasis of this position will be on working with current and potential customers to introduce them to our oncology information system RayCare and our treatment planning system RayStation through demonstrations and training. This is mostly done on client sites but also in our training center in Stockholm, by webinars and at conferences. You will also work closely with our sales team and provide detailed product knowledge in the sales process.

You will mainly work with:

  • Demonstrating RayCare and RayStation at trade shows and onsite for prospective customers
  • Assisting and guiding new customers during the product delivery process
  • Planning, performing and documenting application demos and trainings, mostly for customers but also internal trainings
  • Creating and developing long term relationships with the customers, both by remote service and onsite visits
  • Collaborating with our development department through exploratory testing of new product versions
  • Managing support cases and collecting feedback from customers

Your introduction

When starting in this position, you will get a mentor and a solid introduction to our products and ways of working. You will gradually take more responsibility and start working independently.

Your profile

We believe that our new Application Specialist has a great sense for service and customer support and a strong motivation to work in a highly dynamic environment. You are a social and positive person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy presenting and teaching to bigger and smaller crowds. Further, you can quickly adapt to new contexts and appreciate various environments as well as a variety of different tasks.  You enjoy facing new challenges and solving complex problems, both independently and in collaboration with your team members. You are comfortable with working proactively, taking initiatives and have the ability to prioritize your work and adapt to sudden changes.

Experience & skills:

  • BSc or MSc degree in medical physics/dosimetry/RTT or equivalent
  • Clinical experience in radiotherapy
  • Very good knowledge in English
  • Ability to travel (planned trips, about 30-50%)
  • Medical device industry experience is meriting
  • Swedish/Danish/Norwegian/Finnish language skills are meriting

It’s an advantage, if your clinical experience includes working closely with an oncology information system. Teaching experience and speaking multiple languages are skills that you will also benefit from in your new position.
